I’m Marcello, and pizza for me is more than food — it’s a tradition, a way of showing love.
Born in Sicily, my life was shaped by shared meals, laughter, and the simple joy of pizza passed around the table. In 2016, I left my home, carrying the flavors and spirit of Sicily, with a dream to bring that joy to Australia.
The journey wasn’t easy. I spent years working in various restaurants and pizza shops, learning, growing, and perfecting my craft. Every pizza I made reminded me of home — of Sunday lunches, laughter, and the love that food brings.
That dream led my brother and me to create Dodds Pizza, a place where tradition lives on in every hand-stretched dough, every carefully chosen ingredient, and every pizza we craft.

Alex

I’m Alex, born and raised in Sicily, Italy, where a love for good food runs deep in the culture (and in my veins!). My pizza journey started back home with a basic course to understand the art and science behind making great pizza. That spark turned into a full-blown passion. In 2018, I moved to Australia with the goal of learning this craft for real. I spent my weekends as an apprentice in different restaurants, soaking up everything I could. Over time, I gained experience working with all kinds of doughs, ovens, and pizza styles. I even worked with other caterers, which opened my eyes to how fun, creative, and rewarding this job could be. I couldn’t stop, I was making pizzas on my days off,experimenting at home with different methods and ingredients, always chasing that perfect slice. My friends and family were my biggest supporters (and best taste testers!), and their encouragement kept me going. Along the way, I learned a lot,not just about pizza, but about teamwork, handling challenges in the kitchen, and always pushing to get better. In 2024, I completed a commercial kitchen TAFE course, which gave me even more skills and inspired me to explore food beyond pizza (yes, there’s a whole other world out there, haha!). I also worked as a kitchen chef, but no matter what, my love for pizza never faded. Now, I run Dodds Pizza with my brother — a pizza catering business built on passion, love, and dedication. We can’t wait to bring the fire — and the flavor — to your next event.
